Tell us something about yourself. How long have you been making music ?

My name is Tom McGrath and I have been writing, producing and recording sequenced music for the last 10-12 years covering all genres.

Mr Dog in the boozer.

How would you describe the music that you produce

Most of my recent projects have been drum and bass, dub and techno concentrating on using analogue keyboards and samples to develop my OWN sound.

I have played all types of music throughout my career covering cabaret bands to stranger sounding projects using complex time signatures and triggering samples.

My equipment list is as follows:

Akai S3200 XL

E-mu Orbit

Roland SH-101

Novation Bass station

Korg 05R/W

Korg M1

Samson Mpl24

Alesis Multi Effects

Tascam DA-20

Who are your biggest musical influences ?

My main influences at the moment are Photek, Orbital, Autechre, Advent, Roni Size and many others, there are far too many to list.

Who do you think produces the best electronic/dance music at the moment ?

Photek in my opinion are producing the most original electronic music at the moment, their use of timings and multiple loops are excellent.

Where can you see the dance/electronic scene going.

I can see electronic music developing into a combination of analogue sounds and digital triggers and sound production tools. This is mostly the case now, electronic music seems to have progressed into intelligent arranging.
