Tell us something about yourself. How long have you been making music ?

Hello, my name is Matthew Pye, I'm eighteen years of age and I've been making music on a semi-regular basis for a couple of years now.

How would you describe the music that you produce

I don't really know. You could say that I don't really have a one style that I stick to. I write everything from house, techno to killer 180bpm jungle, it all depends on what sort of mood I'm in.

My set up is mainly PC based. I use it to run everything from Cubase (VST & XT), Gigasampler, Rebirth, Rubber Duck and a whole lot more through a Soundblaster Live soundcard. The only other piece of actual hardware I have is the Roland MC-303 groovebox which I really like although as anyone who has used one with a sequencer will tell you, the programme change commands can be a real pain.

Who are your biggest musical influences ?

I don't really have any major influences as such, I prefer to innovate rather than emulate others. That said, Bob Marley is one of my musical favourites although I've never written a reggea/dub track!

Who do you think produces the best electronic/dance music at the moment ?

There's very music little out there that makes you sit up and listen and think 'wow how did they do that?', or sounds totally different. I'm still listening to the Fat Boy Slim album which is great, but I don't have a lot of time to listen to music, I'm too busy making my own.

Where can you see the dance/electronic scene going.

Harder, faster, darker, deeper....louder.
